Meet Sara:

Hi! I am the trainer at Golden Manners Off-Leash Dog Training. I am also the the owner and breeder at White Pine Goldens!

A little background........I am the mom of 3 children, that are all grown adults now, and have significant others. My husband, Joe and I, are new empty nesters, and live on a small hobby farm in Mishicot, WI. I grew up with animals (mostly horses, dogs, cats, chickens, cows, rabbits) my whole life, so it is second nature for me to love and care for our crew here. Currently we have a horse, 2 donkeys, 3 goats, and a beautiful pack of Golden Retrievers.

I became a breeder of Golden Retrievers in 2015, and officially started my own breeding program in 2017. I wanted our dogs to have MANNERS, and be a good example of our breeding program, so I became intrigued with training our own goldens. I immersed myself with all I could from courses online, to books, to YouTube videos, to more online courses. I learned that balanced training, gets the best results. Communicating with the consistency of an e-collar (digital leash) is what works, and the training is easily transferrable from trainer to owner. I have found that working with horses most of my life, has played a very important role with timing, patience, precision and consistency that carries over into dog training. It seems I found my niche in life! Once people started seeing how well behaved our dogs were, they started asking if I would train their puppy from us. This started a little side income in between litters being born. (I like to stay busy....lol) Then word of mouth just started taking off, and the training side of my little side gig grew!

I not only work with Goldens but have experience working with different breeds including Labrador Retrievers, Australian Shepherds, a Kelpie, LOTS of Poodle Mixed breeds, Pit Bulls, Newfoundlands, and a few rescues. I am open to working with any dog to help bring the best out of them, and help them discover a new way to have clear and consistent communication with their human.

I feel blessed and thankful to have worked with every dog that has been through our training so far. Each one has taught me a little something new that helped make me a better trainer. I look forward to meeting all future dogs and puppies that will come through our doors. I aspire to do right by each one of them and help them be the best dog they can be! May they have "Golden Manners" when they leave here to be the best partners with their humans.

Our dedicated staff consists of all Golden Retrievers that have learned to help assist all new incoming training dogs to settle in and be calm, good citizens. Your dog will slowly be integrated with the dogs in our pack that will bring out the best in your dog and give them the full experience with socialization.
